"It is written,
‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds
out of the mouth of God.'" MATT. 4:4

Food supports physical life. Spiritual food supports your spiritual life. You must have both spiritual and physical food to thrive. You will find nurturing sustenance in the Bible because it supports all life. Are you living on God's word? Are you feasting and thriving on what he says? Or are you just nibbling and barely surviving on little bits? Do you depend upon God like the next breath of air you breathe? All life depends upon him. He is the breath of life!

Lord, let me learn to turn to your word like I need my next breath of air to live! Help me to clearly see my need for reading your word, confessing it out loud and depending upon it to thrive. Nurture me by your living word. May your word sustain me giving me a life worth living. I love you, praising you for everything!

"I haven't gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food." ~ "Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death. Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, he saves them out of their distresses. He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves. Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!" ~ "I have not turned aside from your ordinances, for you have taught me. How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts, I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." ~ "His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." ~ "As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen." ~ "I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one. Don't love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains forever."
