Righteousness

"Whoever, therefore,
shall break one
of these least
commandments,
and teach others to do so,
shall be called least
in the Kingdom of Heaven;
but whoever shall do
and teach them
shall be called great
in the Kingdom of Heaven.
For I tell you
that unless your righteousness
exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees,
there is no way
you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." MATT. 5:19-20

The Kingdom of Heaven reflects the nature of God. The scribes and Pharisees who were considered very religious, displayed a 'goodness' in outward appearance only. Are you displaying the heart of Jesus even when no one else is looking? He wants you to be a bridge between every one you meet and himself by the humble goodness of your heartfelt actions. This is the kind of goodness that is great in God's eyes.

Heavenly Father, thank you for making me part of your heavenly kingdom. May your kingdom rule my heart by the power of the Holy Spirit and not the grandiose power of the world. I cannot live a righteous true life without your help. Help me to do to others what pleases you so I can light the way to you with everyone I meet.

"Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens. His kingdom rules over all." ~ "The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole sky, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him." ~ "For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is well pleasing to the Lord."
Psalm 103:19; Daniel 7:27; Ephesians 5:8-10
