Anger

"You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones,
'You shall not murder'
and 'Whoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment.'
But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment;
and whoever shall say to his brother,
'You good-for-nothing!'
shall be in danger of the council;
and whoever shall say,
'You fool!' shall be in danger of the fire of Gehinnom. MATT. 5:21-23

"If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar,
and there remember
that your brother has anything against you,
leave your gift there before the altar,
and go your way.
First be reconciled to your brother,
and then come and offer your gift." MATT. 5:23-24

Do you get angry? Even Jesus got angry. But when anger becomes a tool of hatred instead of a reflection of heartfelt emotion, it becomes sin. When you empty your anger into words of hate, they will kill. Words have the power of life and death. Give your anger to Jesus, let him heal your pain and forgive your offender as Jesus forgives you.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for all my anger. I am so hurt and angry. I leave it at the cross and accept your blood washing. Don't let my mouth sin. Heal my heart of hatred so my words are kind and respectful. As you have forgiven me, may I forgive others. Thank you, Lord!

"You have proved my heart. You have visited me in the night. You have tried me, and found nothing. I have resolved that my mouth shall not disobey." ~ "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer." ~ "Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing." ~ "The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips." ~ "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." ~ "Seek Yahweh while he may be found; call you on him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." ~ "'Be angry, and don't sin.' Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil."
