that you don't do your charitable giving
to be seen by them,
you have no reward
from your Father who is in heaven.
when you do merciful deeds,
don't sound a trumpet before yourself,
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues
and in the streets,
that they may get glory
I tell you,
they have received their reward.
But when you do merciful deeds,
don't let your left hand know
what your right hand does,
so that your merciful deeds
may be in secret,
then your Father
will reward you openly." MATT. 6:1-4
Have you ever considered that God-ordained giving is an eternal investment? Giving selflessly brings you closer to God and closer to understanding how he gives to us. As long as He sees your generosity, what else matters? Give because it is in your heart to give; not because of how it reflects on you. You can never out give God. Test him in this and he will always bless you more!
Dear Lord, let me be true to myself. Help me to give with a cheerful heart. Let me not be concerned about what others think. Help me to see as you see the heart of a person and not focus on external appearance. Let me see you in each person today.
"But Yahweh said to Samuel, 'Don't look on his face, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for I see not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart." ~ "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you." ~ "In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" ~ "Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. As it is written, 'He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.'"
