"The lamp of the body is the eye.
If therefore your eye is sound,
your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is evil,
your whole body will be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in you is darkness,
how great is the darkness!" MATT. 6:22-23
Your eyes are the windows to your soul. Whatever they absorb fills your heart. What are you filling it with? Your thought life rules you. Are you dwelling on all the comforts of the world that bring fleeting pleasure? Do you let all the issues of life rule you instead of letting God provide the solution? Filling your thought life with anything other than Jesus creates a darkness in your soul. Your thoughts should be fixed on Jesus. Turn your eyes upon Jesus and fill your heart, mind, and soul with him.
Praise you wonderful Father! Wash me with your precious blood and fill me with your sweet Holy Spirit. I need to reflect Your love. Fill my time with thoughts and activities that make the Holy Spirit comfortable dwelling inside my heart. Shine through me! Help me to choose thoughts that are true, noble, right, pure, beautiful, authentic, compelling and gracious. This day I choose your life so that I may live abundantly. Praise you and thank you!
"It happened, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mountain, that Moses didn't know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him." ~ "But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel." ~ "For my eyes are on you, Yahweh, the Lord. In you, I take refuge. Don't leave my soul destitute." ~ "But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he himself fought against them." ~ "The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones." ~ "In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it." ~ "All who sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face like it was the face of an angel." ~ "Don't grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." ~ "Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore don't be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father; subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ." ~ "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." ~ "Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
