Wisdom

"Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man,
who built his house on a rock.
The rain came down, the floods came,
and the winds blew, and beat on that house;
and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Everyone who hears these words of mine,
and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man,
who built his house on the sand.
The rain came down, the floods came,
and the winds blew, and beat on that house;
and it fell—and great was its fall." MATT. 7:1-5

Do you listen with your heart? Or does wisdom fall on deaf ears? God has given us the gift of his wisdom and love through the Holy Spirit who resides in us. Allow that voice to speak and guide you. Do not let your own desires or the interference of the world drown out what God wants you to know. Hear and forget. See and remember. Do and become.

Precious Father, may I put into practice your words that I may become who you created me to be. May your wisdom guide me today that I may be blessed. Let your wisdom in me bless others.

"As an archer who wounds all, so is he who hires a fool or he who hires those who pass by. As a dog that returns to his vomit, so is a fool who repeats his folly. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him." ~ "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love. You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth? This persuasion is not from him who calls you. A little yeast grows through the whole lump. I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is." ~ "But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror; for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does."
